Devon & Cornwall have long been associated with creative people through art at places like St Ives & Newlyn.
Writers have also been drawn to this part of the country for inspiration from history or myths & legends. These have included Agatha Christie, Daphne Du Maurier, William Golding, John Betjeman, & Dame Barabara Hepworth.
We have great coastlines of sandy beaches & rugged coves along with the ever-changing land of the moors & woods.
The industrial heritage of mining can be seen throughout the land & the resource of slate has been used in many different ways. Functional field boundaries & sturdy slate roofs or walls can be seen as you travel through many of the villages of the west country.
We are very fortunate to have been involved with working with many creative people, from stone masons to architects & other inspired people. Some work outdoors on firepits, unusual walls, seating or cooking areas. Whilst others are looking to bring texture inside with internal walls being clad in creative & different ways.
